I am not the body.

What does that mean? Another one of those spiritual concepts that I could never understand, but as I evolve or as I mature and settle into life more, I feel like I'm getting it.

I am sitting here writing in my second bout of COVID. Symptoms are not severe, but my body is definitely fighting something. Grateful for Chinese herbs , rest and lots of love in my life!! But let's get back on topic....

As I'm observing myself going through this "predicament," I'm getting it, "I" am not the body. I am calm, I feel joy and optimism, I am grateful and just feeling life happen in the body I inhabit. Who is that "I" then? Language cannot define it, but when you live it, you know it.

When we define ourselves through the body and it's experiences, that "I" is still there, but it is diminished and identified with what is happening to the temporal body/personality. Once we grow/evolve/realize that the "I" is bigger/eternal/unchanging...well you are able to finally live, "I am not the body, the mind or the emotions that happen through this me."

So simple! Don't you think???
